One good link building tip for firms in the business services arena is to include a request to customers, at the end of a confirmation or follow-up email, to "Please place a link to us on your website/blog/personal page if you enjoyed our service and would recommend it to friends. In return you will receive a (10% off your next purchase/discount/other promotion). Simply email us that you have placed the link and we'll credit your account!"

Of course the key here is to make sure such a request is not too intrusive and doesn't come too early in the customer-company relationship that you lose the customer. That said, a well established customer who is happy with your services would probably be more than willing to add a free link to you in their page or in a post on their corporate blog, and with enough customers these quality links can really add up.
